The House of Dancing Water

Originally I had wanted to visit some of the other places of historical interest in Macau but there was simply not enough time after the very late lunch. I decided that I must leave them for another time. After what seemed an interminable wait and some doubts as to whether the show would still be on because when I arrived, I saw various young men and young ladies in hotel uniforms with a huge white placard in their hands saying "Ticket Refund".  I asked and found out there that that was only for the show at 5 p.m.. I was so relieved.

As it was quite dark inside, this is the best I could do to show what it looked like before the show started. Actually, there wasn't much of a story to the spectacle. As far as I can gather, the hero got had an accident and landed on one of the South Pacific Islands, where he found a damsel in distress. He tried to rescue her from her fate when she was made a prisoner as a result of an internecine tribal warfare. It was just the flimsiest excuse for for staging some astounding diving and motorcyling feats by a number of dare devil male and female divers and motor cyclists. But the lighting and visuals were quite eye opening. Unfortunately, I couldn't capture on photo the faster motions in the dark. There was simply not sufficient light.

  1. I watched the show last November. It's a good one. Apparently, the scenes are very well controlled by the computer programmes and the lighting is superb. Despite the limited illumination, your camera has captured the images well. I like the fountain shots in particular!

  2. Thanks for refreshing my memory of a show which I watched sometime earlier in Sept this year. Your shots are much better than mind. Did you watched the other "free" laser dragon show nearby?
    [版主回覆12/15/2011 00:22:13]Thank you. I didn't watch the "dragon" show.

  3. 去年12月也曾訂票觀看,但表演取消。結果免費住了一晚酒店,也不錯。你的照片拍得很好,像在現場觀看呢。^_^
[版主回覆12/15/2011 12:22:01]Sorry about your lack of luck last year.
The quality of the photos has got nothing to do with me. I just clicked on the shutter. The camera did it all by itself. But the show is worth watching for its visual effects and flawless aquatic acrobatics and perfect split second stage management. A pure spectacle!
