Another new discovery

Since taking up photography about a year or so ago, I have been to many
parks in Hong Kong. But there is still one park which I have only heard
about but never been to. That's the park associated with the Disneyland
Hong Kong, with a very proud name: "Inspiration Park." Since the weather looked fairly nice this afternoon, I decided to give it a
try. Here's what I found.

This must be a familiar sight to those with kids.

It's a quiet park.

With facilities for boating on the man-made lake.

There is a building where one can get some drinks and snacks. This is a corner of its window.

Over the lake there is a small hill.

With such nice surroundings, it's not at all surprising to find some teenage girls having a picnic on the lakeside lawn.

And a bride on her white wedding gown who voluntarily offered to give me a smile

Though her wedding gown in white was quite beautiful, it's nothing compared to the delicacy of the petals of this spider lily.

And the strings on the back of her wedding gown is simply no match for these delicate string-like stamens of the lily

Nor can the edges of her gown compare with the curves embroidered in gold of this flower.

Although most daylilies are withered, there are still a few late bloomers.

I like the freckles on the face of this one

And its dreamlike heart.

The tips of these Indian coral flower look like so many joss sticks fervently offering prayers for the continuance of fair weather to their gods.

Their flowers seem to want to fly towards the sky too

I like too this yellow lily.

with the tips of its stamen in blue and yellow.

Nearby I found these bunny like fruit of the purple trumpets.

Their buds.

Really like the tiny star-shaped flower at its heart.

So dreamlike.

Nearby, I found this bird of paradise proudly displaying its crown.

And in the sunset, I found these new leaves still striving hard to take advantage of the last rays of the dying sun.

Time to go !

  2. That spider lily is a stunning beauty, so delicate, translucent and pure!
How could it withstand the ravage of the scorching sun!
    [版主回覆07/10/2012 08:52:57]They don't. They bloom. They wilt.

  4. HK Disney should be the smallest Disney in the world, but still a nice place to go.
[版主回覆07/10/2012 10:09:37]All a question of money. They're thinking of expanding it now with the relaxation of individual tourist visas for visiting HKSAR by more and more PRC cities. Yes, you're right. It's a very relaxing park.

  6. It is good that grown-ups enjoy what is meant for young people!! I am kidding, no hard feelings??
[版主回覆07/18/2012 10:45:38]There may well be different kinds of young people and different kinds of not so young people. Some young shoulders may carry the kind of heads more usually found found upon their grandparents and vice versa. You can enjoy whatever you enjoy, regardless of age. As David Hume argues, "values" often have little support behind them than habits and customs, which may vary with different people.
