(Xi Murong's "Invitation of Life")

Invitation of Life

Really  there is not much

To worry about

I promise you when the fog clears for good

I shall go

After the hill path planted with new tea leaves and thoughts
of each other   I know
the trail will pass from the hill wall overgrown
with tips of grass
towards the peak the way I know

That life must pass from bountiful
beauty to wilting waste

So if at the fog filled turning

I tardy a little or per chance write

a few lines of poetry about love

Really there is not much to worry
about

There’re some invitations in life which can’t be forgotten

I already promised you    I’m just waiting

Waiting for the moment the fog clears for good.

After all, after death, we won't be able to feel anything any more. Far more important is what we do with our lives before we see the world no more. What we do with such talents, such energy, such education, such experiences as we may have: whether we have squandered them or frittered them away "doing little" or "nothing" or whether we have made good use of such of the resources as may be available to us in the multifarious and ultimately unpredictable contexts which life throws us into, to make others a little happier or at least a little less unhappy in such ways as circumstances and the vagaries of our strength and our wills may permit.
You have an enjoyable weekend too!
