Cuando Los Ángeles Lloran --Maná (天使們哭泣時)

I love Latino songs. That's one of the reasons I learn Spanish. The Latinos are a very special people. They have a very special culture: one which is  not afraid to love, to  hate, to be jealous, to laugh, to cry, to fight for one's honor, in short to live, come what may. They are spontaneous and seldom hide what they truly feel. They like to have fun. But when they face injustice, they will protest. When they protest, they sing.

One of the Latino bands I like is Maná., Orginally called Sombrero Verde ( Green Hat), its members, José Fernando (Fher) Olvera ( vocalist) Gustavo Orozco (electric guitarist, who left the group in 1986 for studies);the Calleros brothers: Juan Diego (bass guitarist) Ulysses (electric guitarist) and Abraham (drummer) (who left the group in 1984 and was replaced by Alex González, A Cuban-Colombian)   all came from Guadalajara.

In 1975 they decided to get together to play different songs from groups they admired, including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Police, among others. They wanted to do rock in Spanish and started to write songs of their own at a time long before rock was accepted by the public in general but they persisted. They released their first album "Sombrero Verde" in 1981, A Tempo de Rock in 1983 and many other albums.

They took up the new name of Maná ( a Polynesian word connoting "positive spiritual energy") in the 1980s and has since stuck with it, doing a fusion of rock, pop and Latin rhythms as part of a movement in Latin America first started in Mexico called "Rock en tu idioma" (Rock in Your Language), originating from Argentina and Spain and in 1987, launched their new album "Maná" under the Polygram Records label. From this album, the following singles came out: "Robot", "Mentirosa" (Liar), "Mueve tus caderas" (Move Your Hips), and "Queremos paz" (We Want Peace). With this production the group had little success, and it left the members almost entirely unsatisfied. Maná asked for withdrawal from Polygram Records after clashing with the latter to maintain the essence and identity of their group.

One of their songs I like is "Cuando Los Angeles Lloran" (When Angels Cry"). It's about a young man environmentalist intent on protecting the tropical  Amazonia rain forest who got killed because of economic and political interests.

Cuando Los  Ángeles Lloran

A
chico Mendez lo mataron

Era un
defensor y un ángel

De toda
la Amazonia.

El
murió a sangre fría

Lo sabía
Collor de Melo

Y también
la policía.

Cuando
los ángeles lloran

Lluvia
cae sobre la aldea

Lluvia
sobre el campanario

Pues
alguien murío.

Un ángel
cayó

Un ángel
murío

Un ángel
se fue

Y no
volverá

Cuando
el assesin huía

Chico
Mendz se muría

La selva
se ahogaba en llanto

.

El
dejó dos lindos críos

Una esposa
valarosa

Y una
selva en agonía.

Cuando
los ángeles lloran

Es por
cada árbol que muere

Cada
estrella que se apaga

Ho ….no….
no

Un ángel
cayó

Un ángel
murío

Un ángel
se fue

Y no
volverá

Un ángel
cayó

Un ángel
murío

Un ángel
se fue

Se fue
en madrugada.

Cuando
los ángeles lloran

Cuando
los ángeles lloran

Lloverá

Cuando
los ángeles lloran

Cuando
los angels lloran

Lloverá

Huuuu
aaaa ho ….no…no…

Huuuu
aaaa ho…. no..no…

Maná

[版主回覆08/05/2013 12:18:13]Not type! I don't know how to do that. I just use 手寫版 but it doesn't support many Cantonese "slang" characters. So sometimes it takes me ages to find an alternative character. I hate that and sometimes give up because no matter how many times I try, I fail!.
    [卜司晨回覆08/05/2013 10:22:12]拭目以待啊!
