On top of Hong Kong again (再度踏在香港之上)

It's been quite a while since I went up to the Peak. It's no fun being jostled and elbowed by the impatient horde from up North.

Now that their big vacation is over, perhaps one could perhaps take a peep around the peak again? I was lucky. Not very many of them around on the lookout tower.

Hidden by leaves, I took a leisurely stroll along Lugard Road.

A patterns traced by some insect?

The grids traced by the sun.

A bit of smog, no big problem.

The typhoon shelter across the harbor

Two MTR towers guarding the harbor

Clouds above Kowloon.

More clouds drifting in.

Clouds don't recognize borders.

whether it's Kowloon, Central , Western or Wanchai, Taikooshing or Kun Tong.

Looking out towards Lyemun Pass

Clouds gathering over Kowloon

The clouds over the New Territories has rather more continuity.

The clouds appear to be spreading out from an invisible point

The whole of Kowloon and Tsuen Wan

Not very many boats inside the harbor

They all moved westward.

Thin wisps of clouds over Kowloon

but thickening.

Changing vast stretches of our skies.

Soon they cover half the harbor

and form a cover over both sides of the harbor.

They're moving towards the Western District: the East wind has established itself as the prevailing wind in Hong Kong..
.

The view from Western, towards which all forces nowadays appear to gravitate.

The Tsing Yi Bridge with swarms of dumb lighters from the North.

The fate of the West Kowloon Recreation and Cultural Area is still undecided

Who is going to monitor our public policy and our public expenditure?

All the big land developers, contractors, insurance and finance houses, engineering consultants and our petty politicians want a piece of the action, not to say all those naive and not so naive "art" groups who all claim to be interested in our cultural development and to work for the so-called "common good" which to many has become just a barely disguised  label for an "S" slashed with two vertical strokes.

But life goes on, quarrels or no quarrels

The clouds continue their way

The big white cloud that a moment ago was over Central has moved away from Western.

The trees are still there

So is the waterfall. What are our bitter bickerings and in-fighting to them?
